By The Sea

By The Sea is a restaurant rebrand for one of Rockport, MA’s most popular dining locations. By The Sea is known for its bold seafood favors and stunning outdoor patio overlooking the ocean. I created a punchy color palette to play off their bold food and paired that with a quirky serif font and etchings to emphasize the restaurant's coastal charm.

When designing the website, I thought a lot about how to incorporate movement into the experience. There are moments built in that feel buoyant, like riding over a wave, and that give a push and pull, like the tides. The mouse is a lobster claw that adds some fun to navigating the site.
